A remarkable song which juxtaposes the sensation of quiet stillness with the stirring affirmation of the triumph of the spirit if you 'follow the road.'  Van sketches the journey from despair 'when you've given up hope' to contemplation when 'you go inside for a while' which gets 'you back home.'
